Neil Brock (George C Scott) is a social worker dealing with gritty realism as he tries to help various people living in a slum area of New York. Frieda Hechlinger is his boss at the community welfare office, and Jan Foster the office secretary. This hour-long drama series was too intense for its time. Attacked controversial social problems and didn't always have happy endings.
