NYPD - 1967
NYPD (1967) starring Jack
Warden, Robert Hooks & Frank Converse -
NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH NYPD BLUE
NOTE: THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST REQUESTED SHOWS WE HAVE HAD IN THE
PAST YEAR AND ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT SERIES TO FIND WITH ANY
DECENT QUALITY EPISODES. SO MANY OF THE EPISODES HAVE BADLY
DETERIATED.
WE THINK YOU WILL BE PLEASED WITH THESE 24 RARE EPISODES.
Converse played Det. Johnny Corso, along with Jack Warden as Det.
Mike Haynes and Robert Hooks as Det. Jeff Ward. Filmed right on the
streets of New York, this was one of the first realistic, gritty,
and believable Cop Shows --way ahead of it's time! The three
detectives fight every kind of criminal all over New York City. The
show featured many actual New York locations, as well as episodes
based on real New York police. It was probably too gritty for 1967
prime time, and dealt with hookers and drug dealers and "criminal
loonies" mad at the world. Filming it in the city gave it its rough
edge.
This limited running series was nominated for an Emmy award.
